So we got to the block, and were met by a good friend who had his two little girls to help us. They thought it was great, and possibly the biggest sand pit in the whole world. Kate and I measured out the plants, and I got to work with digging holes for the shrubs.. (I will tell you what they are sometime.. I can't remember at the moment...)
We had 59 to plant on the left (east) side, and 62 on the right. We wanted to get one side done each day - complete with the irrigation plumbed in and everything ready to go.
It was hard going...Darrell came back in the afternoon, and was kind enough to roll up his sleeves. With his help I was able to complete the holes, and Kate was following behind. The recipe that we used was one double hanful of Moo Poo, one double handful of Sheep poo, and one double hanful of native planting mix. Then add the plant, and backfill with native planting mix. Let's just say Kate was as busy as a one legged man in a but kicking contest!!
